Description One of the most influential and controversial rock bands of the 1960s, The Doors was formed in Los Angeles by Jim Morrison, Ray Manzarek, Robby Krieger, John Densmore. With Morrison’s resonating voice, poetic lyrics and their unique music, they quickly rose to fame. They released 8 records between 1967 and 1971. After Morrison died in Paris in 1971, the band continued as a trio for 2 years before breaking up in 1973.
